What is Caphosol®?
- Caphosol® is a mouth rinse for the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis1
Who can use Caphosol®?
- Caphosol® can be used to prevent and treat oral mucositis in patients receiving radiation or chemotherapy
- Caphosol® can also be used by patients suffering from dryness of the mouth and back of the throat regardless of the cause or whether the conditions are temporary or permanent1
How can Caphosol® benefit me?
- Caphosol® contains high concentrations of calcium and phosphate ions
- Calcium and phosphate are important in maintaining a healthy mouth and throat
- Reduce the length of time that patients suffer from oral mucositis2
- Reduce the amount of time that patients are in pain as a result of oral mucositis2
- Reduce the amount of medication required to relieve the pain caused by oral mucositis2
- The use of Caphosol® has also been associated with lower rates of oral mucositis than are generally expected in patients receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy or combined chemoradiation for cancer of the head and neck3
- Through preventing and treating oral mucositis associated with cancer therapies, the risk of interrupting your cancer treatment may be reduced
