Caphosol® is an electrolyte solution with two separate components supplied in single-dose containers, each 15 mL:
- Caphosol® A: phosphate solution
- Caphosol® B: calcium solution
These are combined in equal volume to form a supersaturated solution.
How should Caphosol® be prepared?
- Mix 1 Caphosol® A and 1 Caphosol® B in a clean glass
- Swish half the solution in the mouth for approximately 1 minute and spit out
- Repeat with the remaining half and spit out
Caphosol® should be used immediately after mixing.

How often should Caphosol® be used?
Caphosol® can be used 4 to 10 times a day. It should be used for the duration of the cancer treatment or as instructed by the prescribing physician.
Does Caphosol® interact with other treatments?
Caphosol® is not known to interact with medicinal or other products.
Are there any special precautions for use?
Avoid eating or drinking for at least 15 minutes after use. As Caphosol® contains sodium (71 mg per 30 mL dose treatment), patients restricted to a low sodium diet should consult their physician before use.
What if Caphosol® is accidentally swallowed?
There are no known adverse effects if Caphosol® is accidentally swallowed.
Caphosol® should not be used if the seal of the single-dose container is broken or shows sign of leakage or damaged.
