28 October 2008.
EUSA Pharma is pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Pitchford, MA MBA PhD to the EUSA Pharma Board of Directors. Nigel will replace Andrew Fraser who has represented 3i as a member of EUSA Pharma’s Board since March 2006. Andrew, who helped establish the current team of Investors, has been a highly valuable and respected member of the Board and Chairman of the Audit Committee, and his contribution will be missed.
Nigel joined 3i’s global venture team in 1997 and became a Partner in 2006. He is currently based in London and leads the venture team’s healthcare activities across Europe and the US. During his time at 3i he has been heavily involved in a wide variety of healthcare investment activities across Europe and the US. These primarily include a number of biotech, drug development and niche healthcare organizations where he has led and been instrumental in funding
rounds, refinancing and restructuring deals, trade sales, licencing deals and IPO’s. Nigel is a Director on the boards of Apatech Limited, Small Bone
Innovations Inc., Healthcare Brands International (HBI) Limited and Immatics Biotechnologies GmbH.
Prior to joining 3i Nigel studied chemistry, graduating with an MA from the University of Oxford, before completing a PhD at the University of Durham. His
research activities were focused on aspects of computational chemistry and rational drug design. Nigel joined the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC) in 1994 and spent two years working on new product design and projects for pharmaceutical company clients. He then completed an MBA at Warwick Business School, before joining 3i.
We are delighted to welcome Nigel to the EUSA Pharma Board of Directors; his excellent experience from an investment perspective and his knowledge of our industry will result in a highly valuable contribution to EUSA Pharma’s success.
