ProstaScint® is an imaging agent that
can help locate and identify previously diagnosed prostate cancer.
ProstaScint® is a monoclonal antibody combined with a small amount
of radioactive material called indium-111 (In 111). As
ProstaScint® circulates through the body, it attaches to Prostate
Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) which is located on prostate cancer
cells. These areas of attachment are visible to a gamma camera that
can detect radiation given off by the indium-111. Using this
technology, pictures or images will be produced showing prostate
cancer.
ProstaScint® is available in the U.S. For more information on ProstaScint® please visit www.prostascintimaging.com.

Important Safety Information: Patient management should not be based on ProstaScint® scan results without
appropriate confirmatory studies since in the pivotal trials, there was a high
rate of false positive and false negative image interpretations. ProstaScint
images should be interpreted only by physicians who have had specific training
in ProstaScint image interpretation. Medications for the treatment of
hypersensitivity reactions should be available during administration of this
agent. |
